Motorist confronts bike thieves

Just two months after a man and his biker friends recovered his own bike after it was stolen, he confronted bike thieves and recovered suspected stolen bikes last night.

Mr Zac Morodi’s own bike was stolen on 15 September this year at his house in Aerorand. The next morning he and his biker crew “We are one” members (from eMalahleni) started looking for his bike.

They found later that day in a trench on the corner of Mandela- and John Magagula Street.

Last night at about 21:30 he was driving on the N12 (eMalahleni) when he noticed two people with bikes in the bushes next to the road.

It looked suspicious and he immediately stopped next to the road. When he confronted them, they dumped the bikes and ran away.

He called his biker crew and within three minutes the first bikers arrived. The police and a security guard from CSC Security also came to the scene.

According to Mr Morodi they searched the area until 23:30 last night, but the suspects are still at large.

• The two bikes they recovered are: a 250cc Big Boy Scrambler and a smaller 50cc Scrambler. The two bikes are at the Witbank Police Station.

• Mr Morodi would like to thank the following people who helped on the scene: The “We Are One” bikers crew. Nombuso Lukhele, Vusi Skhosana, Clinton Morodi, Bafana, Themba, Abram Maroga, Mish Shongwe, Vusi Motau, Sfiso Lwandle, Pastor Nicolas Mokwena, Tsala Mahlangu.

• Special thanks also to Mr Michael Khumalo (from CSC Security) and Captain JJ Viljoen (Witbank SAPS).
