Two killed in collision

Two people were killed in a late night collision between a Ford Ranger and Toyota Corolla at the corner of Cowen Ntuli and Verdoorn Street last Thursday.

The accident occurred at about 22:30 when it is believed one of the drivers skipped a red robot.

The impact flung both vehicles between 15 to 20 metres from the intersection and two brothers from Malelane, Tomothy (29) and Wangile Nkosi (27) were declared dead on the scene. A third passenger in the Toyota Corolla was seriously injured and remains in hospital.

The Middelburg SAPS confirmed that they are investigating the incident. “A case of culpable homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol is being investigated against the driver of the Ford Ranger,” said Warrant Officer Lize De Witt.
