Northam Booysendal Mine has continued with donations to schools in both Mpumalanga and Limpopo.
The mine donated some schoolbags and stationery to local schools on January 30 as part of its back-to-school campaign. The donations were handed to the Grade Ones and Rs attending school for the first time.
The schools that benefitted were Dikgageng Primary School in Ga-Maepa Village (Fetakgomo Tubatse), Molejiane in Brooklyn (Nebo Makhuduthamaga), and Lehlakong in Eenzaam Village (Makhuduthamaga).

Dikgageng pupils received 147 packs, Molejiane 70 and Lehlakong 60. These pupils also received Booysendal-branded schoolbags and pencil cases. Each bag contained stationery such as sharpeners, erasers, HB pencils, scissors, wax crayons, rulers, glue sticks, snacks and many more gifts.
Booysendal’s stakeholder engagement manager, Pius Monyela, said this initiative is more than just a donation. “It’s an investment in building strong educational foundations and inspiring young minds to dream big. We’re passionate about educational initiatives that ignite an interest in learning, and set young minds on the path to success. We want to be part of the journey; we want to see these pupils succeed.”

The principals, NF Mohlala of Dikgageng, Colleen Malekane of Molejiane, and AM Makgoga of Lehlakong, were excited about the donations. They urged the local mines to join Booysendal in their campaign to improve education locally. “We are thankful to this mine; may it keep on growing and continue to change lives.”
