The South African Democratic Teachers’ Union’s (Sadtu) Mike Mashego branch recently honoured
matriculants and educators in the Drakensberg Circuit who had excelled in the 2022 matric exams.

The event was held at Tshabelang Dinoko High School in Leboeng.

The best pupils, teachers and schools were honoured with certificates in an event attended by the Drakensberg
Circuit’s manager, Japhta Mathebula, and representatives from the Limpopo Department of Education.

“We appreciate all the hard work by our teachers. The Drakensberg Circuit was among the best in the Sekhukhune East District, and for that we applaud all the stakeholders involved in achieving this milestone,” said Davies Shaku, the secretary of the Mike Mashego branch.

The big winners during the ceremony was Mohlakeng Secondary School, having achieved a 100% pass rate.

“To the learners who could not make it, do not despair, as there are opportunities for you to catch up. It is not an option for any learner to take their lives because of poor performance. We call upon these learners to approach their teachers and departmental officials for guidance on the many opportunities for them to complete
their matric,” said Shaku.
