Lowveld beauty in Mrs SA’s top 25

The mother of a four-year-old daughter said the most exciting experience so far was her family's joy when the top-25 finalists were announced during the CANSA gala dinner held at Emperors Palace on April 29.

MBOMBELA – Former Mrs Lowveld and now Schwarzkopf Professional Mrs South Africa top-25 finalist, Melony Naidoo (34), has described being chosen as a finalist as a blessing.

The mother of a four-year-old daughter said the most exciting experience so far was her family’s joy when the top-25 finalists were announced during the CANSA gala dinner held at Emperors Palace on April 29.

“They were overjoyed. They have been so supportive and encouraging, it has been a great journey and it is about to get more interesting,” said the beauty.

As top-25 finalists, the women are being spoilt with sponsors’ products and in turn have to do humanitarian work.

“We are required to be ambassadors for the sponsors and for CANSA. We need to get gold sponsorships to the value of R25 000 and host a Cuppa for CANSA.

“We also attend a lifestyle challenge in Cape Town in July which promises to be very exciting,” said Naidoo.

“Mrs Lowveld opened many doors for me, hence the opportunity to now participate

in Schwarzkopf Professional Mrs South Africa. I have learned and gained a lot of insight which has been beneficial for me,” she said. She also mentioned that

Ms Manda Gomes, Lowveld Beauty Pageant owner, was the one who advised her to enter.

“Manda believed in me and if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have realised the potential in me. For that I thank her,” said Naidoo.

She added that her journey thus far as a finalist has been so amazing and life-changing and she was grateful for the opportunity.

“If I were to win Schwarzkopf Professional Mrs South Africa, I would like to use this platform to share my story, my transformation, and to give hope and inspire other women who need uplifting and encouragement,” she said.

Naidoo started modelling at the age of 16 and said although she have won a couple of titles, she did not win as many as she had hoped.
