Mid-year stress has many Lowvelders' at their wits' end. Cope with these tips.

MBOMBELA – We’ve passed the year’s halfway mark and the stress is weighing down on all of us.

Do you feel like life is getting you down?  Take a look at Lowvelder’s 11 tips that will assist you in beating stress.

  • Solve the little problems. This can help you gain a feeling of control, bit by bit.
  • Prepare to the best of your ability for events you know may be stressful, such as a job interview.
  • Try to look at change as a positive challenge, not as a threat.
  • Work to resolve conflicts with other people.  Relational conflict maintains an uneasiness in the hearts and souls of those involved.
  • Talk with a trusted friend, family member or counselor about issues that bother you.  This offers a form of release.
  • Set realistic goals at home and at work. Avoid overscheduling as this may make you feel overwhelmed.
  • Exercise on a regular basis.
  • Eat regular, well-balanced meals and get enough sleep.
  • Meditate.
  • Participate in something you don’t find stressful, such as sports, social events or hobbies.
  • Let go of what you can’t control.
