DreamWorks Animation returns to the world of dragons and Vikings in this sequel to their successful 2010 outing How to Train Your Dragon. The original film followed the exploits of a Viking chief’s son, who must capture a dragon in order to mark his passage into manhood and prove his worthiness to the tribe.

Set five years after the original, How To Train Your Dragon 2 follows the story of returning heroes Hiccup and his dragon Toothless as they explore the world and chart new territories around their homeland of Berk. When the friends stumble upon a cave full of dragons – and the mysterious Dragon Rider – they find themselves in the middle of a larger conflict between humans and dragons. It now lives amongst the villagers as working animals and companions, and even take part in racing sport.

Having come of age, he is being pressed by his father, Stoick the Vast, to succeed him as chieftain, although Hiccup remains unsure if he is ready for this responsibility.
