Colours and lights glow on Rhinos Indoor Sports Club at Mbombela Stadium

Lowvelders supported the glow run for a good cause.

Over 400 Lowvelders supported the Rhinos Glow Run at Mbombela Stadium on Friday night.

The event raised funds to help the Lowveld Rhinos Indoor Sports Club’s U13 and U18 teams attend the Pro Sport Indoor (PSI) Hockey National Championships later this year.

The Rhinos are an indoor sports club that coaches and competes in netball, hockey and soccer. “We organised the event to raise funds for the teams that will be playing in PSI tournaments in Durban and Cape Town. This event will give us the opportunity to help the parents who would like to send their kids, but are financially unable to do so. We have a lot of businesses helping and supporting the club already,” said Joe Schoeman of the club

“Thank you to all the people who took part and made it an unforgettable event. It was a huge success. There were between 500 and 600 people who took part in the glow run. We would like to thank everyone in the community who came out to make it such a success. Thank you to the Airlink Pumas players and Comrades athletes who challenged all the people in the 1km speed race that took place before the glow run.”
