Eddie Wilken of Malelane Golf Club won the Lowveld Mid-Amateur Open at Mbombela Golf Club on Sunday.
The tournament was played over 36 holes on Saturday and Sunday.
Wilken claimed first place on the leader board after the first round on Saturday with a 72.
David Ryan of Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club was one shot back on 73.
Alexander Jimmy Shahim of Country Club Johannesburg, Neville Meyer of Malelane Golf Club, Ruan van Blerk of White River Country Club, Janneman Combrink of Malelane Golf Club, and Henk Klopper of Magaliespark Country Club, were tied for third on 75 after the first round.
Wilken’s second round of 71 gave him a tournament score of 143 and the championship.
Combrink also shot 71 on Sunday and finished second on 145.
Gareth Clements of Country Club Johannesburg and Johan Buitendag of CMR Golf Club also carded 71st to tie for third place on 146.
Shahim claimed fifth place on 147, after his 73 on Sunday.
Van Blerk shot a 74 on Sunday to finish sixth on 148
Ryan’s second round of 76 took his total to 149 and Klopper’s 75 on Sunday gave him a tournament total of 149, with both sharing seventh place.
