Part seven in store for the Lowvelder Golf Challenge

Mbombela Golf Club will once again play host to the Lowvelder Golf Challenge, as the seventh edition is set to take place on Wednesday August 28.

The seventh instalment of the first-ever Lowvelder Golf Challenge series is coming to Mbombela Golf Club.

The Lowvelder Golf Challenge is a series of 10 golf days hosted by Lowveld Media at Mbombela Golf Club, having started in February with the finale set to take place in November. The golf challenge is organised in partnership with Octopi Smart Solutions and Du Toit Smuts & Partners Attorneys, who have come on board as the sponsors of the inaugural series.

Thus far, six rounds of the series have been held, and each day is played in the individual Stableford format with the golfer accumulating the most points taking home the prize at the end of the day. But, in order to be in contention for the grand prize in November, the golfers must have played in a minimum of five of the monthly golf days.

There has been a total of 87 golfers who have thrown their hat into the ring over the past six months, but only five are eligible for the grand finale at this stage. A large number of golfers are within touching distance of eligibility though, and require only one or two more to meet the required amount.

JJ van Rensburg is the only golfer to have taken part in each of the golf days thus far, which is the reason he finds himself top of the leaderboard going into the seventh round.

The seventh Lowvelder Golf Challenge will be held at Mbombela Golf Club on Wednesday August 28. To book a round contact Mbombela Golf Club on 013 744 0952.
