International title is bestowed upon local beauty

She will still be doing charity locally but will also have to travel more in her 10 remaining months as MWI. “I always say charity starts at home. How can you make a difference in the world if you don’t try and make a difference where you live?”

LYDENBURG – Beautiful, stylish and with a heart as big as her smile. These are just some of the words to describe the alluring Jeanette Kruger-Hibbens.

With all these elements combined, it is no wonder that Jeanette was chosen as Ms World International (MWI) 2015.

She, as usual, showed up at the office of the newspaper on Monday for the interview, with no pretense. “What you see is what you get,” she always reminds this journalist.

Jeanette was the runner-up in this international pageant in 2013. She will now take over the reins from American, Melanie Britton.

Jeanette told Steelburger/Lydenburg News that this beauty competition could not be held in 2014, because the president and founder of the pageant, Stephanie Hunt’s husband was very ill.

The next MWI is planned for Jamaica in 2016. The organisers had to transfer the title to someone else. Their choice was none other than this petite beauty.

“When they phoned me and asked me if I would be willing to do it, I was in two minds. I worked hard to participate in the 2013 pageant and I wanted to work hard again to deserve this,” she said.

Jeanette has accepted the title bestowed upon her and said she looks forward to this new challenge. Her biggest job will be to promote MWI in South Africa. She will, with entertainment guru, Jacques Lombaard of Mbombela, send five participants to the 2016 MWI to compete in the five categories.

These are Teen, Miss, Beauty, Mrs and Elite. “I never thought that this would happen. I was blown away, especially because I am so far away from the United States. I am, however, excited about the challenge that lies ahead of me,” she said.

You can clearly see that her beauty is not the only reason why she was chosen as MWI 2015. Jeanette is tirelessly involved in various charity organisations. “I always want to help everyone. I can’t always, but I want to. I want everyone to be happy.”

She will still be doing charity locally but will also have to travel more in her 10 remaining months as MWI. “I always say charity starts at home. How can you make a difference in the world if you don’t try and make a difference where you live?”

In a press release the MWI pageant said, “The MWI organisation is proud to announce that Jeanette Kruger-Hibbins of South Africa and Dr Elizabeth McGhee of Michigan have graciously accepted the following 2015 titles. Jeanette KrugerHibbins – Ms MWI International 2015 and Dr Elizabeth McGhee – Ms MWI International Elite 2015. “We are more than excited to have these exceptional ladies as our 2015 royal representatives.”

Jeanette is definitely putting this little town on the map – one pageant step at a time.

Founded in 2010, Ms World International is an international competition focused primarily on women aged 35 and over. The mission of the organisation is to spotlight women who are confident, motivated and natural-born leaders.

The competition is best categorised as “pageantry meets woman of the year”, and celebrates not only the beauty, fitness and style of participating magnificent women, but the spirit of who they were, who they are and who they strive to be
