Do Circumstances Make You Better or Bitter?

“Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily.” Isaiah 58:8

At some point, everyone’s path becomes difficult in various ways. It is, however, who we have on our side and what we do about it that will eventually determine the effect these traumatic experiences will have in our lives – will they make us better or bitter?

With the national lockdown, what emotions are you experiencing? Are you frustrated? Angry? Anxious? Full of faith?

In March 2009, I was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome and had a near-death experience. I am challenged by the coronavirus to keep my faith in a good God.

During this time, I could not talk. I could listen and experience that God is good. He is the source of life. That although the virus had broken down my entire system, I could rely on His goodness.

The question remained – would these circumstances make me better or bitter?

I pose the same question to you today. Will our present circumstances help you rise to become better or will you become bitter about the situation?

Jennifer Rothschild said, “The difference between bitter and better is I. ”

Choose to be better in this time.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for healing power to come to me in Jesus’ name. Thank you that your name is bigger than coronavirus. I pray for supernatural protection over myself and my family. The spirit of fear has no place in my dwelling. In the name of Jesus, amen.
