Two dead and one seriously injured in crash on N4

After a crash between the Mabalel and Mara intersections, the spokesperson for community safety, Moeti Mmusi, once again stepped in to advise motorists to be mindful of the prevailing weather conditions on the roads.

A crash involving a truck and a bakkie between the Mabalel and Mara intersections on the N4 earlier today, October 15, claimed two lives and caused some serious injuries to a third person.

The incident resulted in the redirection of the morning traffic flow. The recovery is still in progress. The road is accessible, however, motorists are advised to approach the area with caution.

The Mpumalanga spokesperson for community safety, security and liaison, Moeti Mmusi, said the cause of the crash is as yet unknown, however, an investigation was launched. He also encouraged road users to be vigilant as more rain is anticipated for this afternoon and evening.

“We encourage motorists to adjust to the prevailing weather conditions by reducing speed and being mindful of the effects of the weather on the road,” he said.
