Mpumalanga Show takes over Mbombela with fun galore

The MEC for co-operative governance, human settlement and traditional affairs, Speed Mashilo, officially opened the Mpumalanga Show with a parade. Bring your family down to the Mbombela Stadium to have some fun.

Day one of the extravagant Mpumalanga Agricultural Trade & Family Show kick-started with an opening parade featuring cultural groups and some of the unique farm animals on display at the event.

The parade was led by the Mpumalanga MEC for co-operative governance, human settlements and traditional affairs, Speed Mashilo, along with the director of the Mpumalanga Show, Themba Sgudla, at the Mbombela Stadium earlier today, September 5.

Mashilo delivered the opening address and also planted a tree marking the significance of the show in the economic stimulation of Mpumalanga.
“We are expecting great attendance from locals and tourists, which reflects the growth of this festival and the province’s economy. This is a significant initiative that showcases the beautiful image of the province that is rich with agricultural activities, coal mining and tourism,” he said.

“The show plays a vital role in the development of Mpumalanga as a tourism hub, because it brings together diverse people, products, food and so much more. I encourage attendees to also visit the various tourist attractions in the province in celebration of Tourism Month.”

Mashilo and his delegation also interacted with some of the exhibitors during a walkabout at the show.
The Mpumalanga Show continues until Saturday, September 7.
