Tubatse Cricket Club win Women’s Day trophy to continue their winning streak

The visitors convincingly defeated Malegale Cricket Club by 131 runs.

Tubatse Cricket Club continued their winning streak as they beat Malegale Cricket Club by 131 runs on Women’s Day.

The 30-over match was played at the Malegale Sports Grounds in Sekhukhune.

The visitors won the toss and chose to bat. They were bowled out in the 23rd over for 185.
Malegale struggled in chasing the target posed, losing two of their top order batsmen in the first three overs.
The hosts were eventually bowled out in the 13th over for only 54 runs.

Tubatse Cricket Club’s vice captain, Tatane Pako, coach Usman Ayub Rao and captain Daud Patel.

Medium-fast bowler Muzzamil Patel was Malegale’s chief tormentor. He claimed three wickets in the 13th over. He conceded a single run in the one over he bowled.

For his heroics, he was named man of the match.

Usman Ayub Rao, Tubatse Cricket Club’s coach, told this publication about his ambitions to grow cricket in Sekhukhune.

“We plead that local businesses invest in the sport. They can assist by donating playing equipment as well as kits and other accessories. Sport unites people. It also takes our youth off the streets.”
For winning the match, Tubatse took home a trophy and gold medals.
