Shoppers brave the cold at the Market @ Casterbridge in White River

Despite the cold weather the Casterbridge Market provided quality time for family, friends and pets in the open air.

After a freezing start on Sunday morning, the sun came out and so did the people to attend the very popular Market @ Casterbridge on July7.

As always, there was something for everyone. The Lions Club’s stall was also part of the market, offering free screening for diabetes.

The organiser, Peta de Wet, said despite the cold weather, the market was well attended as all stalls were booked.

“It was a very busy day with lots of happy sales, and you could hear the chatter and laughter. Keen shoppers, spoilt for choice, enjoyed live music while buying products from the area’s talented community. We love being a pet-friendly market, and it’s always a joy to see owners and their pets visiting. It was a fantastic day and we are always grateful for the support we receive from the community.”
