Bodies of two women discovered in Mpumalanga

The perpetrators behind the crimes are unknown. The Mpumalanga SAPS has launched investigations.

The Mpumalanga SAPS has retrieved the burnt body of an unidentified teenage girl in a mountainous area between Pienaar and KaNyamazane outside Mbombela.

The discovery was made at about 18:00 on Wednesday July 10.

According to the Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Captain Magonseni Nkosi, the body was spotted by a passerby.

“Police and medical practitioners were summoned to the scene. She was declared dead on the scene by medical personnel,” he said.

Nkosi said another body was discovered in KaMajika New Cemetery near Hazyview on Thursday July 11.

“We found the body of a 46-year-old woman who had been kidnapped in Mphatseni near Hazyview at about 00:15 on Sunday July 7. The body was found with multiple injuries and a rope around the neck.”

“According to information, the woman was kidnapped by three armed suspects in front of her three children at home. It was established that the body was that of the woman who was kidnapped after she was positively identified by family members,” Nkosi said.

Nkosi said the police have since assembled a team of investigators to work on the cases.
