Initiates discover skeletal remains near Stocking

The discovery has led to the Burgersfort SAPS launching an inquest.

Several initiates from Stocking Village discovered some human remains at Mbabalelo Mountain on Friday, June 28.

This has led to the Burgersfort SAPS launching an inquest.

“According to reports, the initiates were gathering firewood when they came across some human remains, as well as male and female clothing that included grey trousers, a red jersey, grey socks and a woman’s grey traditional outfit. It appears that the remains have been on the scene for an extended period of time,” said the Limpopo SAPS’ spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba.

He said the circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated, and that the identities of the deceased remain unknown at this stage.
