Mbombela family of five in need after fire ravages home

Residents are requested to assist the family with necessities such as clothes, food and toiletries.

A family of five lost all their belongings when a fire broke out in their home on the Curlews Road in Rocky Drift in White River on Sunday June 30.

According to a resident who is assisting the family, Monya Erasmus, the fire started at the main power distribution board.

“The mother managed to get the three children out of the house in time, but could not save any of their belongings. They are left with nothing but the clothes they wore when the fire broke out.”

Erasmus has urged locals to assist the family with necessities such as clothes and food, specifically requesting the following:
• The husband needs sizes 32 shirts and 34 trousers, and size seven or eight shoes.
• The wife needs size XL shirts or tops, sizes 42 to 44 pants and size five or six shoes.
• The four-year-old girl needs clothing between sizes five and six years and children’s shoes size 11.
• The two-year-old boy needs clothing sizes between three and four years and children’s shoes size 11.
• The five-month-baby boy needs clothing size 12 to 18 months, baby formula, nappies size three, a baby bed and a stroller.

Items can be dropped off at 16 Skylab Crescent in Mbombela.
