The actual annual international celebration for Yoga Day will be at the Wanderers Cricket Stadium in Illovo, near Sandton in Gauteng, on June 22, under the theme 'Yoga for Women's Empowerment'.

The India Consulate General in Johannesburg hosted a health event as a run-up to 2024 International Yoga Day, at the Lowveld National Botanical Garden on Sunday June 2.

The annual international celebration will be held on June 22 at the Wanderers Cricket Stadium in Illovo, near Sandton in Gauteng.

The botanical garden was the perfect backdrop for a serene yoga session, well known for promoting physical, mental and spiritual well-being. This ancient practice started 5 000 years ago in the East and was first mentioned in ancient Sanskrit writings.
