A night of glitz and glam for Edgeview Academy’s matrics

The matrics of Edgeview Academy spent a beautiful evening at Emnotweni Arena for their matric dance on May 25.

It was a beautiful evening filled with glitz and glamour for the matrics of Edgeview Academy who had their annual matric dance at the Emnotweni Arena on Saturday evening, May 25.

The night was certainly special, as the academy spared no expense, ensuring this evening was a night that will be remembered for years to come: from grand cars that were hired for arriving at the venue to designer dresses and suits.

The Arena was also decorated in splendour with white and gold being the colours of the evening. The theme paired perfectly to the academy’s message to the matrics: “You are gold, Class of 2024. Solid gold!”

The principal, Peter Madhomu, congratulated the matriculants for making it this far into their school years, and encouraged them by saying: “This is only just the beginning of the rest of your lives. Continue to work hard, to put as much effort into your schoolwork and your careers as you did into this night, and you will surely soar high.”

A guest of honour graced the matric dance. Adv Dorcas Mathebula shared the story of her journey to success with the learners. She urged the matrics to press on academically. “The fruits of education are sweet, however bitter the road may be.”
