Shots fired on resident in Mbombela’s Hunter Street

Multiple security units were deployed to the scene in Hunter Street where some shots had been fired at a person earlier this evening, February 22. He escaped unharmed. The motive is as yet unknown.

At about 19:00 this evening, February 22, several hots were fired at a man at 5 Hunter Street, Mbombela.

Multiple security units, including Securicon, Divergent Ops and Hi-Tech Security, responded to the incident.

Callum mac Pherson, Securicon’s Mbombela area business manager, said one of their tactical support members happened to be at De Hallen Shopping Centre when the call came through, and he rushed to the scene.

The Securicon and Divergent Ops teams made contact with the individual on the premises who was shot at. Fortunately, he escaped with no injuries, but is understandably shaken. He expressed his intention to open a case with the SAPS tomorrow, February 23.

Mac Pherson added that currently, they do not have any further information available. The motive behind the shooting remains unknown, and the Securicon team reported no clear suspect or vehicle information.
