Nelsville woman celebrates 100th birthday with four generations of descendants

The birthday celebrations of this great-great-grandmother started on February 5 at her home in Nelsville, and are set to continue until the 17th.

On February 5, Wilhelmina Helena Naude celebrated her 100th birthday. She had a tea party with her children at her home in Nelsville.

She is a people’s person – humble, soft-spoken, kind and patient, says her son, Austin. She is a mother, a grandmother of 32, a great-grandmother of 49, and a great-great-grandmother of one.

The birthday celebrations will continue on February 10 when she enjoys a meal with the local community. On February 11, a blessing will be bestowed on her in the New Apostolic Church. The final celebration, which will be attended by her two surviving siblings, is a black-tie gala dinner that will take place at the Anew Resort on February 17.
