Two in court following break-in at Mpumalanga Hawks head’s Mbombela home

Two men appeared in the Nelspruit Magistrate's Court in connection with breaking into the Mbombela home of the Mpumalanga Hawks' head, Major General Nico Gerber.

Two men were remanded in custody following their appearance in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court today, January 11, following their recent arrest in connection with a break-in at the Mbombela home of Mpumalanga Hawks head Major General Nico Gerber.

The Hawks’ spokesperson, Captain Dineo Sekgotodi, said Skhumbuzo Lasley Khathi (43) and Phumlani Nkosi (37) were arrested by the Nelspruit Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit and the Mpumalanga Provincial Organised Crime Unit on Tuesday January 9 for possession of stolen property.

“During preliminary investigations, the duo were linked to some other cases. The case was remanded to Friday January 12 for further investigation,” said Sekgotodi.
