Curro’s matric farewell was a marvellous way for the Class of 2023 to end off the year.
Hosted at Whispering Thorns in White River on November 30, the mild summer evening was a magical night for all.
Parents and Curro learners were all invited to witness the arrivals of the honoured guests.
The Grade 12s pulled out all the stops with their high-end vehicles and their glamorous outfits. As they walked the red carpet, the crowd applauded.

After the arrivals, the parents were invited to view the venue. It was decorated in an understated, classy style with soft white, brown and pink accents.
When the matrics were allowed into the venue, they exploded with anticipation.
During the course of the evening, the school’s headmaster, Nico Bronkhorst, and the head leaders shared some words of inspiration, as well as awarded some special prizes, such as the Dozer Award, which was awarded to the Grade 12 who falls asleep anywhere, anytime.

In addition to the fun prizes, the most fashionable, glamourous and charismatic attendees were recognised. The best dressed male received a voucher to the value of R1 000 for a dinner for two at Zest. This was awarded to Bonolo Mphahlele.

The best dressed female received a voucher to the value of R1 000 from The Treatment Room. This prize was awarded to Keitumetse Zono.
While it was a difficult decision, as all the Grade 12s looked spectacular, both Bonolo and Keitumetse were deemed to be the epitome of style and class.
After the prize-giving, the matrics enjoyed a three-course meal and good conversation, followed by carefree dancing.
As the evening wound down to its end, there were a few tears shed and many hugs between the learners and their register teachers.
It was a lovely final evening spent with the Class of 2023.
