Skills displayed during maths Olympiad at Pro Gratia

Mathematical principles come in handy in many aspects of life. The learners of Pro Gratia Learning Centre used them during the school's recent maths Olympiad.

Ready with pencil and pen, there was excitement among the participants of Pro Gratia’s mathematics Olympiad, which consisted of a junior and a senior group. A total of 31 learners participated on August 17.

The Olympiad was opened with prayer and the lighting of a candle by the school’s head boy to make the competition official.

“Business is a very important aspect in any profession, and therefore it is our aim to offer each learner the necessary knowledge to empower himself/herself with the basic mathematical principles to be able to function successfully,” said Ansie Viljoen of the school.

She said competition is good, and it provides an opportunity for the participants to improve their social skills by competing with others.

At the end of the day, everyone was a winner with their own abilities, but there were still first, second and third places that stood out.

“Congratulations to our participants and congratulations to our masterminds.”
