A round of golf in Mbombela to commemorate Women’s Day

A hundred and forty players, men and women, set out to the greens of Mbombela Golf Club for the Lowvelder-sponsored golf day to enjoy some friendly competition. Lowvelder's next golf day will be held on October 4.

It was a perfect day out as Lowvelder sponsored a thrilling golf day at the picturesque Mbombela Golf Club on Women’s Day celebrated on August 9.

A total of 140 eager golfers set to the greens to try their hand at this challenging course.

The format of the day was a better-ball Stableford, which encouraged friendly competition and camaraderie among the players. The atmosphere on the green was lively, with golfers of all skill levels coming together to showcase their talent and enjoy a day of sport.

As the day unfolded, the players showcased their skills and strategised their way through the course. Each golfer’s score depended on their combined efforts with their partner, making teamwork an essential aspect of the game.

The day not only provided a platform for golf enthusiasts, but also allowed for networking and building connections within the community.

At the end of the day, the scores were tallied, and the winners were honoured for their outstanding performance. However, the true victory was the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship that prevailed throughout the event. The smiles and laughter shared between participants were testament to the success of the day.

Results
• 1st: Ettine and Taig Lilford – 46 points
• 2nd: Joan Lancefield and Juice van Zyl – 44 points
• 3rd: Niel and Stoffel du Toit – 42 points.

The next Lowvelder-sponsored golf day is scheduled to take place on October 4.
