Lowveld Mighty Men hold a conference aimed at changing lives

The main goal of the conference was to encourage men to take responsibility for their families, to be there for them in good and bad times, and to lead them to serve God.

Men across the Lowveld attended a weekend filled with the Word of God and worship at the Mighty Men Conference (mmc) Lowveld at Klipspringer Lodge.

The event, which commenced on Friday August 4 under the theme “Breakthrough based on 1 Chronicles 14:11”, was only for men. When the programme ended on Sunday, those who had attended brought their families to take part.

The conference organiser, Kobus Pretorius, said attendance numbers had exceeded their expectations. He said the main aim was for men to take responsibility, restore their families and lead where they are so that we can have a safer country.
According to Pretorius, during the conference, hope was restored to those men who had given up on life, while testimonies were heard of those who had planned to leave their families, but changed their mind to return to God and rebuild their families.

Men suffering from addiction were delivered and freed from sin. Pretorius said it was a blessing to see men bring their sons to God at a young age. “It showed that the future generation will be safe, because they will fear God and do the right thing at all times,” he said.

The MMC founder, evangelist Angus Buchan, reminded the men that God chose them to be leaders within their families and their communities while taking responsibility for properly raising and caring for their children and being exemplary husbands to their wives.
“Men are supposed to play a significant role where they live, because God entrusted them with that responsibility. We have men who make a lot of babies, but are not supporting them, putting women under pressure to raise them on their own. Kids grow up angry for not having a father figure. We need men who will be there for their families in good and bad times and lead them to serve God,” he said.

Buchan highlighted the fact that physical, spiritual and mental attitudes toward life must convey the fragrance of Jesus Christ in everything. He said it is a simple concept: men must understand that they are responsible for their family, community and the nation. He also called for men to be encouraged to be good fathers, good husbands, good leaders and good citizens for the benefit of the Kingdom of God. Men should be responsible when it comes to the management of finances while also instilling moral standards and Biblical principles.
