Motorcycle rider dies in R40 accident
One fatality was reported following an accident between a bakkie and a motorcycle on the R40 in Riverside.
A motorcycle rider died from an accident on the R40 in Mbombela on the morning of June 23 following a collision with a bakkie.
Emer-G-Med arrived at the scene at the intersection of the R40 and the Eastern Boulevard at Mafunyane Waterpark, found the victim, an elderly male, dead, and declared him so.

According to Moeti Mmusi, spokesperson for the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, the cause of the collision between the bakkie and motorcycle is still unclear and will be investigated by the police. The motorcycle caught fire following the accident.
The occupants of the bakkie, the driver and one passenger, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
