Leaking pipe at Nelspruit SPCA repaired

The pipe had been leaking for the past two years.

A water pipe on the Nelspruit SPCA’s premises that had been leaking for the past two years was repaired on Tuesday June 5.

This comes after Lowvelder raised the issue of the leaking Silulumanzi water pipe. The pipe had been leaking inside the Nelspruit SPCA yard for two years and damaged the infrastructure.

“The water leak at the SPCA has now been repaired. The rest of the pipe will be replaced in due course and the wall will be replaced,” said Silulumanzi’s spokesperson, Richmond Jele.

The wall crumbled as a result of the leakage. Jele said there had been a few issues with the pipe and they have budgeted to replace it to resolve the problem permanently.

The chairperson of Nelspruit SPCA, Lize Pienaar, confirmed that the leak has been repaired and said she hoped this time around it will not leak again, as it had been fixed before, only to start leaking again within a few days.
