Fancy Pigeon Show a magnificently feathered affair for the Lowveld

Over 20 exhibitors from around the country came to show off their fancy pigeons at the Fancy Pigeon Show in Mbombela.

With 60 breeds of pigeons and almost 600 entries, this year’s Fancy Pigeon Show, held in the underground parking of i’langa Mall on Saturday, May 13, was certainly a sight to behold.

The Eastern Region of the South African Fancy Pigeon Association’s (Safpa) show saw 23 exhibitors and a total of 594 entries, from pigeons with fan-shaped tails and feathered hoods around their heads to pigeons with curled feathers on their backs.

The show was a treat for visitors and competitors alike.
