Stolen scooter recovered by Fidelity ADT officer in White River

A Fidelity ADT reaction officer successfully recovered a stolen scooter after following its tracks to the R40.

A White River resident was grateful when his motorcycle was found on Thursday May 11 with the help of Fidelity ADT reaction officer, Gerhard de Beer.

“De Beer responded to a WhatsApp message from a community member regarding a house that was burgled during the night. Perpetrators had stolen a Big Boy scooter, a plasma TV and a sound bar,” Joe de Bruyn, branch manager of Fidelity ADT White River said.

Responding immediately, De Beer arrived at the premises and started looking for tracks. He found motorcycle tracks and started following them for approximately 500m to where it had been pushed on a gravel road towards the R40 main road.

The tracks led to an open field where De Beer continued to search the grassy areas. After a short search he found the motorcycle next to the R40. The suspects had left it hidden in the grass. The owner was informed and White River SAPS were notified.
