Laeveld Ratels off to a good start with a win
Ratels' next encounter will see them welcome KaMhlushwa (Black Cats) Rugby Club at Steelpoort’s Winterveld Stadium on May 13.
The Laeveld Ratels continued with their impressive home performances as they won their first game in the 2023 Ehlanzeni Rugby League.
They defeated Matsulu Rugby Club 15-5 on Saturday in a match played at a packed Winterveld Stadium in Steelpoort.
Backed by the home supporters, the Ratels were impressive from the start, and took the match away from the visitors with their fierce attack.
The home team managed to score three tries, while the visitors only had one. The Ratels’ tries were scored by Zoe Qebengana, Clement Moshwane and the vice captain, Marius Albrecht.
“Thank you to all sponsors, coaches, the people behind the scenes and most of all, our awesome players for an eventful match. We look forward to some world-class rugby this year,” said the team management in a statement.
