Limpopo celebrates new female ministers, advocates and women in leadership positions hailing from the province

Limpopo MEC for public works, roads and infrastructure, Nkakareng Rakgoale wants more women in leadership roles.

The Limpopo MEC for public works, roads and infrastructure, Nkakareng Rakgoale, has congratulated the newly appointed women ministers who hail from this province. Rakgoale was speaking on behalf of Premier Chupu Mathabatha at the International Women’s Day event at Ga-Matlala, Setumong Sport Ground.

“The appointment made by President Ramaphosa, is a clear indication of a government that advocates for women leadership and empowerment. We thank the president for having confidence in our women to lead. What makes us even more proud, is that Limpopo is well represented on that level. We indeed congratulate the daughters of Limpopo.”
The newly appointed ministers from Limpopo are Thembi Nkadimeng, the minister for co-operative governance and traditional affairs, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, minister in the presidency, Maropeng Ramokgopa, minister in the presidency responsible for planning, monitoring and evaluation and Pinky Kekana, the deputy minister in the presidency responsible for monitoring and evaluation.

Rakgoale further said the congratulations she is sending on behalf of the province are an indication that Limpopo has become a breeding ground for women leaders, an example that should encourage everyone to continue support work that the Limpopo government is doing in women emancipation.

Scores of women from across the province’s five districts gathered at Ga-Matlala for a joyful celebration of International Women’s Day filled with cultural performances and dances.
Rakgoale praised the government for having high number of women in leadership at political level, but said more still needs to be done and called on the private sector to appoint more women in executive managerial posts for their emancipation.
