WATCH: MEC says Mpumalanga is prepared for March 20 strike

MEC Vusi Shongwe addressed law enforcement and the security cluster on Saturday March 18 at Hoërskool Bergvlam about the impending strike on Monday March 20.

The MEC for the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Vusi Shongwe, has vowed to the residents of Mpumalanga that law enforcement will not allow the EFF to disrupt the province during its planned national shutdown.

He outlined the plans of the province to deal with the shutdown and said they have been preparing since March 17 and are ready.

At Hoërskool Bergvlam he addressed a parade consisting of various branches of law enforcement, along with security companies, CPF members and emergency service members.

The interdict did not, however, declare the planned shutdown illegal.
