Rollover crash leaves vehicle on its roof on R37

The driver of Toyota Hilux sustained minor injuries in a vehicle accident. This was the second incident involving a Toyota Hilux in this area in three days

On Wednesday November 2 just before 08:00, a driver lost control of their Toyota Hilux on the R37 between Lydenburg and Burgersfort and it rolled onto its roof.

The cause of this accident was not disclosed. Netcare 911, other emergency workers, Thaba Chweu’s Emergency Services were called out to the scene. The driver was treated there.

Another accident, which also involved a Toyota Hilux, occurred on Monday October 31.
It is suspected that the driver might have skidded on the wet road surface and hit the rails next to the road.

Heavy rain caused havoc with the traffic in and around Lydenburg on Monday. According to the South Africa Weather Services, 65mm rain fell between 13:00 and 17:00, and an additional 30mm throughout the night.
