Mbombela and surrounds quiet on day of planned national shutdown

Aside from one isolated incident, the Lowveld is still quiet this morning after the announcement of a national shutdown scheduled for August 24. 

According to the Lowveld Security JOC, as of 05:50 on the morning of August 24, only one confirmed incident has been reported of tyres being burnt in Pienaar.

Other than this, all roads in and around Mbombela are open and transport is running smoothly.

There are some unconfirmed incidents in Marite. (Update @ 06:20 After unconfirmed incidents in Marite, the area was declared clear.)
