Uitsig Estate management call out City of Mbombela for bad service

The estate account manager, Loretta Szikra, said it is paying R16 000 to the municipality but still receive a poor service.

Uitsig Estate management said the City of Mbombela (CoM) is dragging its feet to repair damage to a pavement caused by a refuse skip, and not collecting refuse according their agreement.
Uitsig Estate’s account manager, Loretta Szikra, said the problem started in May when the CoM came to collect refuse and had to move the skip. A wheel fell off and damaged a pavement.

“The CoM is supposed to collect refuse once a week as per as per agreement, but that is not happening anymore. It collects every second week and this is causing an unhygienic situation. We pay about R16 000 a month for the most terrible service. A pavement was damaged and the CoM keeps sending us from pillar to post when it is supposed to come and repair the skip and the pavement,” she said.

Szikra said she tried to talk to all relevant departments in the municipality, even though some of the officials refused to give the name and number of the person(s) responsible.
“We are paying services to the municipality monthly without defaulting, but its services are bad. We are therefore demanding that it replace the skip and fix the pavement, and collect the refuse according to our agreement since it is its responsibility to do so,” she said
The CoM spokesperson, Joseph Ngala, said he will need to enquire to the relevant department before he reverts back to Lowvelder.
