Beloved Mbombela biker’s death leaves a huge void

Hugo Greyling, a member of the Crusaders, passed away in hospital on July 26.

While efforts were under way to raise funds for his medical costs, Hugo Greyling (40) sadly passed away in Rob Ferreira Hospital on Tuesday July 26.

What had landed him in hospital can only be described as a series of unfortunate events. Just 18 days after suffering a mild stroke on May 10, he was in a motorcycle accident, leaving him with serious injuries, a pending operation, a slew of surgeries and a hefty hospital bill.

Wanting to get back to living his life to the fullest after the stroke, he had hopped on his motorbike on May 28 for a short ride through town, when a taxi collided with him.

Following his death, the Crusaders, of which Greyling was a member, thanked the community for all the support they had received before and after his passing.

Family and friends are still coming to terms with the loss of their loved one; he was a husband, a father and a dear friend. Both the family and the Crusaders will speak to Lowvelder over the course of the weekend in order to give Greyling the tribute he deserves.
