It was chaired by the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) manager, Mzwakhe Mogane. He was part of the delegation that represented the Ehlanzeni District Municipality (EDM) based in Mbombela.
Service delivery and maintenance are primarily the main focus of IDP meetings. But, the first order of business was to elect residents to represent various areas in Ward 14. They will assist the Ward 14 DA councillor, Marius Opperman, with the administration of the ward and report service delivery issues to TCLM.

Ward 14 is the business and residential areas to the left of Viljoen Street, in the direction of the Viljoen and Voortrekker Streets four-way stop at Ford McGee. It incudes the Weltevreden road area, Potlootspruit and a part of Skhila. It also includes the CBD in Lydenburg.
Ward 12 comprises the Voortrekker and Eeufees streets’ traffic light intersection, The Heads and Sterkspruit Estates. It also includes the houses to the right of Viljoen Street as you enter town from the Dullstroom T-junction, R36, and the residential area below the Lydenburg Hospital.
The 10 members who were elected for Ward 14 are Shaku Davies, Anthony Mafuwane, Elize Swart, Jimmy Morethe, Bennie Liebenberg, Gerrie Swart, Moloko Moshoane, Grace Molobela, Annelize Arce and Cherise Coetzee.
