#IMadeMyMark: ANC takes early lead ahead of municipal polls

With only 33% of the votes counted so far, the ANC is leading the pack with 53%, followed by the DA with 17% and the EFF in the third spot with 15%. The VF Plus is currently sited on position four with 4%

The ANC in Mpumalanga has taken an early lead to the 2021 local government elections. With only 33% of the votes counted so far, the ANC is leading the pack with 53%, followed by the DA with 17% and the EFF in the third spot with 15%.

The VF Plus is currently sited on position four with 4%. The ANC’s provincial acting chairperson, Mandla Ndlovu who is watching the outcome of the elections with an eagle’s eye, said he was hopeful of having a clean sweep in all the province’s 17 municipalities.

“I have no doubt in my mind that the ANC will win these elections. We are going to make history again by retaining all our municipalities. Remember, only winners make the history books and we will make those pages,” he continued.

He said they conducted a vigorous door-to-door campaign, which included visits to a number of households. “Our people ensured us that we are still a reliable ally and they promised that come rain or sunshine they will always vote for the ANC.

They also promised us that they were part of the ward councillors nomination processes and were happy with their choices,” said Ndlovu.
