Water to be restored to West Acres soon

Silulumanzi has asked customers to bear with it while it works on restoring the water.

Silulumanzi has said that the water supply to the West Acres area should be fully restored within the next four hours.

Residents of the suburb have been without water for 30 hours.

Silulumanzi spokesperson, Richmond Jele, said the water outage was the result of two pipes that burst in West Acres. He said at first the team only found that one pipe had burst, but then discovered the second pipe also had a break.

Jele said special fittings for the second pipe had to be manufactured and that the new fittings had recently left the workshop and were on the way to the site to be fitted.

“Water should be restored to West Acres in the next four hours,” said Jele.

“We ask our customers to bear with us. We apologise for disruptions.”
