WARNING: Graphic CCTV footage shows horror R40 accident
The accident occurred on Friday around noon on the R40 near Riverside Mall.
MBOMBELA – CCTV footage of the multi-vehicle accident that occurred on the R40 near Riverside Mall on Friday, surfaced earlier today (Monday).
In the video currently doing the rounds on social media, it can be seen how the driver of a timber truck travelling in the direction of Mbombela from White River lost control of it, plunging into several vehicles.
It left the road, before bursting into flames. Moeti Mmusi, the spokesperson for the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, said the truck driver had been “burned beyond recognition”.
