Trial for three accused of murdering Hetta Potgieter to start early next month

The three accused will be back in court on August 2.

The trial date for the three accused of the murder of elderly Lowvelder, Hetta Potgieter (85), has been set for August 2.

Monica Nyuswa of the Mpumalanga NPA said the matter was moved to August for trial.

Shaun Oosthuizen (40), John du Plooy (28) and Maryna Vorster (50) made a brief appearance at the Mbombela High Court today so Oosthuizen and Du Plooy could consult with legal aid. T

he police arrested the three accused shortly after Potgieter had been found dead in her Macadamia Care Centre apartment on July 2, 2018. They face charges of murder and house robbery.
