“At Summerhill we always strive to give children experiences out of the norm, to enhance their all-round education,” said Cheryl Calmeyer, head of the school. “Besides the normal academic and sport programme, we offer a variety of clubs and other activities. The Eco Adventure Club is run on two Friday afternoons each term. The club focuses on caring for our environment as well as experiencing some adventure.”

She said the senior primary children may join this club if they wish to.
“On Friday May 21 our children hiked from the school to the Elephant Sanctuary where they enjoyed a light meal. They then had a chance to interact with the elephants.”
