Child neglect case is opened

A case of child neglect was recently opened at the Masoyi Police Station against the two siblings whose children recently burned to death in Jerusalem.

MASOYI – Sgt Naniki Nonyane, spokesperson for the Masoyi police, confirmed this. “A case of child neglect has been registered at the Masoyi Police Station and the matter has been handed to the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit for a decision. No arrests have been made so far regarding the death of the children.

The police investigation is still under way.”

The two cousins, Noxolo Mlotshwa (7) and Mandisa Maseko (9), tragically lost their lives when the RDP house in which they were sleeping went up in flames on April 17. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
