Kwena Dam continued its upward trend and now stands at above 95 per cent.

According to the Department of Water and Sanitation’s (DWS) weekly state-of-reservoirs report of March 15, it increased from 94,1 per cent to 95,8. Other dams that had not yet reached 100 per cent also recorded improvements in water volumes, with Inyaka increasing from 83,9 per cent to 85,2 and Ohrigstad increasing from 76,3 per cent to 78,1.

Dams above 100 per cent, like Klipkopje and Primkop, recorded some improvements, increasing from 100,2 per cent to 100,4 and 100 per cent to 100,6 per cent respectively.
Longmere and Da Gama dams remained unchanged at 102,3 per cent and 100,3 per cent respectively.

On the decline, Buffelskloof dropped from 100,6 per cent to 100,5, Blyderivierpoort from 101,2 per cent to 100,9, Driekoppies from 100,9 per cent to 100,7 and Witklip from 100,6 per cent to 100,5.

Provincially, the DWS report shows that the average water levels in the listed dams in the province slightly dropped from last week’s 88,5 per cent to 88,4.
