Valencia Combined School matric pass rate improves

Valencia Combined School has improved its grade 12 pass rate from 64 per cent in 2019 to 88,1 per cent in 2020.

Valencia Combined School has improved its grade 12 pass rate from 64 per cent in 2019 to 88,1 per cent in 2020. According to the headmaster, Ben Bongani Mohuba, this is a great improvement for the school.

“We are proud of our learners. We would like to congratulate our top ten learners in the school. Especially Faatima Iqbal; she has placed our school on the map. She is in the provincial top ten matric learners for 2020 and she is the top learner in our school.”

Faatima is at the top in the school with an average of 91 per cent, then Siphosenjabulo Zwane with 75 per cent, Kuku Carol Simango with 73 per cent, Sibonelo Simphiwe Selby Motha with 72 per cent, Pollen Siphosethu Kgopane and Amukelani Wellcome Khoza with 71 per cent each, and Abdul Raafee Riyaz Tulve and Loraine Londekile Mkhonza both with 70 per cent.

Siphesihle Nomonde Dlamini recorded 69 per cent and Sithembile Hope Palmer 68 per cent. Faatima told Lowvelder that she was excited to be in the provincial top ten during the matric results announcement at the University of Mpumalanga.

“I am planning to study accounting via Unisa.” She added that it had not been an easy year due to the pandemic. Mohuba said to the top ten learners of the class of 2020, “Go and prove to the world you have what it takes.”

According to the headmaster they are going to turn round the tables this year by performing at 100 per cent with uncountable distinctions.
