Covid-19: Mpumalanga records 75 more positive cases since previous report

South Africa has recorded 650 749 confirmed infections, according to an announcement by the minister of health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, on Monday, September 14. A total of 25 825 of those cases have been reported in Mpumalanga.

According to data released by the Mpumalanga Department of Health, there have been 24 469 recoveries and 466 deaths to date.

The number of positive cases in the province can be broken down as follows:

Ehlanzeni District

• Bushbuckridge: 759 cases, 699 recoveries and 16 deaths
• City of Mbombela: 4 427 cases, 4 141 recoveries and 34 deaths
• Nkomazi: 1 984 cases, 1 894 recoveries and 33 deaths
• Thaba Chweu: 378 cases and 354 recoveries and 10 deaths.

Gert Sibande District

Chief Albert Luthuli: 687 cases, 660 recoveries and eight deaths
• Dipaliseng: 335 cases and 326 recoveries and six death
• Dr Pixely Ka Isaka Seme: 917 cases, 880 recoveries and 18 deaths
• Govan Mbeki: 3 504 cases, 3 376 recoveries and 32 deaths
• Lekwa: 1 100 cases, 1 017 recoveries and 59 deaths
• Mkhondo: 527 cases, 486 recoveries and 22 deaths
• Msukaligwa: 1 504 cases, 1 406 recoveries and 43 deaths.

Nkangala District

Dr JS Moroka: 370 cases, 354 recoveries and eight deaths
• eMakhazeni: 412 cases and 378 recoveries and 14 deaths
• eMalahleni: 5 298 cases, 5 077 recoveries and 87 deaths
• Steve Tshwete: 2 557 cases, 2 397 recoveries and 47 deaths
• Thembisile Hani: 616 cases, 586 recoveries and 20 deaths
• Victor Khanye: 450 cases and 438 recoveries and nine deaths.
