Fire at KNP’s Berg en Dal restaurant put out

The park advised guests to keep clear of the area to allow the disaster team to do its work.

According to Ike Phaahla, spokesperson for Sanparks, the fire has been put out.

“Workers noticed the fire at 10:00 this morning and quickly reacted, containing the fire to the kitchen and dining hall. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is being investigated,” he said.

The Kruger National Park announced via its Twitter account that the restaurant at Berg en Dal was on fire earlier today.

This comes after a fire also broke out at the Letaba Rest Camp on the evening of September 9. Investigations are still under way to determine the cause of the fire at Letaba.
